Pastor Peder Eide Death : Peder Eide Obituary : Singer Songwriter Worship Leader Passed Away After Cancer Battle

After a courageous fight with cancer, our friend and host Pastor Peder Eide passed away on April 26, 2024, and we at LIFEST are saddened to relay the news.

The wildly successful Christmas Tour by Peder takes place every December. The single "Why Wouldn't I" has become a feature song among ministries and families interested in adoption and orphan care, and his recent highly acclaimed Christmas CD, PERFECT SURPRISE, was chosen by The USA TODAY as one of its featured holiday selections.

In addition to ministering to a diverse range of church denominations through concerts and worship services, Peder continues to be welcomed by numerous ministry groups as a part of their activities.

More than 200 radio stations around the nation have played Peder's music regularly and shown their support for him over the last many years. The National Inspirational Charts have featured multiple of his tracks, including the Top 10 hit "Roll the Stone Away." The sincere devotion and love that Peder has for the Lord shines through in his music, making an impression on both radio programmers and listeners.

It is an honor for Peder, who is both an artist and a spokesperson for Compassion International, to have his ministry help sponsor thousands of children from developing nations. The happiness of seeing numerous children sponsored by his own family is something he has also felt.

By adopting two lovely children, Makenzie and Teshome, from abroad, Peder and his amazing wife Sherri have increased their investment in children with special needs. As a family, the Eide's three precious children—Taylor, Allison, and Ethan—have given them a taste of true worship and shown them the Lord's goodness.

Even if Peder's chances of making it big on the PGA tour are dwindling, he may be keeping his spirits up at a local hole. Dating his wife, coaching his kids' sports teams, accompanying them on field trips, or jamming with them in the basement "concert hall" while they play their own instruments take up most of his free time. He tries to be the kind of parent and spouse he hopes his blessed family will be.
