Josh Rowsey, a multifaceted North Carolina recording artist, actor/improviser, and writer, known for his appearances on NPR, DJ Booth, and Indy Week, has passed away. Recognized also as "Joshua Rowsey" and "J Rowdy," news of his death spread through social media channels.


As a founding member of the national hip hop collective "No9to5 Music," Rowsey played a pivotal role in shaping the hip hop scene. He spearheaded the UNC-Chapel Hill cypher, earning a nomination for an Indy Week award for the best venue to experience Hip Hop in the Triangle region.
