It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Charles Duru, a beloved student at the University of North Georgia, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Lumpkin County. Charles was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him, and his sudden loss has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the university community.

Born and raised in Dahlonega, Georgia, Charles was known for his infectious smile and warm-hearted nature. 

He was a dedicated student pursuing a degree in business administration, demonstrating a passion for learning and a commitment to excellence. 

His professors admired his enthusiasm and diligence, often noting his ability to engage deeply with the material and inspire his peers.

Outside of his academic pursuits, Charles was actively involved in campus life. He participated in various student organizations and events, contributing to the vibrant community at the University of North Georgia. 

His involvement extended beyond the classroom; he volunteered for local charities, believing in the importance of giving back and making a difference in the lives of others. 

Charles was also an avid motorcyclist, finding freedom and joy in riding, which tragically led to his untimely death.
