Mr. Claude Franklin Taylor, age 80, son of the late Elbert and Mary Fulcher Taylor, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He was born and raised in Craven County and spent his entire life in the Vanceboro area, where he became a beloved member of the community. 

Claude was known for his warm heart and generous spirit, touching the lives of many throughout his years. He was a dedicated family man, always prioritizing the well-being of his loved ones. 

Claude enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in local agriculture, where he was recognized for his hard work and commitment to sustainable practices. 

His knowledge of the land and dedication to farming was a source of pride not only for him but for his entire family.

In addition to his work, Claude was actively involved in various community organizations. 

He volunteered his time and resources to support local initiatives, demonstrating a deep commitment to helping others. 

His passion for service and leadership inspired those around him, and he was respected for his integrity and wisdom.

Claude leaves behind a loving family, including his children and grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories they shared. 

He was known for his ability to tell captivating stories of his youth, filled with life lessons and laughter. Family gatherings were always filled with his infectious laughter, which will be profoundly missed.

The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Claude's remarkable life.
