The news of Brighton drag star Miss Jason's death surfaced this morning, and tributes have been flooding in ever since.


Performing under the name Jason Sutton, the artist captivated audiences for more than two decades. He had television appearances, such as on Blankety Blank (BBC One) and Come Dine With Me (Channel 4).



In December 2023, Miss Jason had a pantomime performance at The Doubletree by Hilton Brighton Metropole as Cinderella. In 2020, after Sutton experienced hearing loss and balance issues as a result of an ear tumor, the star's admirers rallied to assist pay for his hearing aides.


Our deepest condolences on the news of Jason's passing this morning," read a statement released by Miss Jason's management company, Smash Talent.Without Jason and his 32 years of providing entertainment to our community, it just won't have the same feel.


We will always remember Jason. You will be deeply missed by those who love you. During this difficult time, our hearts go out to Terry Ward, his loved ones, and friends.


Early this morning, BBC Radio Sussex host Allison Ferns—who was in a pantomime with Miss Jason—posted a tribute on X. 


"What shocking and tragic news," she wrote. Because of you, I was able to learn so much about panto, and I will be eternally thankful for the opportunity to perform with you.


A fantastic, kind performer who is also hilarious both on and offstage. Someone whose beautiful, kind spirit will be deeply missed. My sweetheart, I love you.
