Two children were killed and fifteen others injured when a woman crashed her car into a children's birthday celebration, according to Sheriff Troy Goodnough's statement from Saturday night's news conference.
Police sources indicate that among the casualties were an 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old child who were identified at the location.
According to reports, a woman in Monroe County, Michigan, rammed her car into the Swan Boat Club's wall at approximately 3 o'clock in the afternoon. She then stopped 25 feet within the club.
Responders that arrived on the scene of the accident attended to the fifteen casualties. Nine of them were quickly transported to adjacent hospitals by ambulances and helicopters, where they received treatment for serious, perhaps deadly injuries.
The victims included three kids and six adults. According to the sheriff, a greater number of accident victims were carried to hospitals by private automobiles.
At the site, an arrest warrant was filed for 66-year-old Marshella Chidester, who is suspected of being a drunk driver who caused someone else's death. At this time, Chidester is a prisoner at the Monroe County Jail.
The names of the four victims are Jayden, Mariah, Lana, and Zayn. Unfortunately, Mariah and Jayden are in serious circumstances, while Zayn and Lana have been proclaimed dead.
